Chocolate Strip Cookies

Indulge your chocolate craving with these tasty brownie-like cookies.
Ingredients:
3/4 cup butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2
¼ cups all purpose flour
1/2 cup cocoa
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
3/4 cup chopped pecans
4 ounces white chocolate, melted
Directions:
- In large bowl, with electric mixer, cream butter and sugars until fluffy.

Beat in eggs and vanilla.

In separate bowl sift together flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt; stir into creamed mixture.

Stir in chocolate chips and chopped pecans.

Divide dough into four portions.

Lightly grease 2 baking sheets.

On each baking sheet shape two portions of dough into logs 12 x 1½-inch (30 X 4 cm), placing about 2 inches (5 cm) apart.

Bake in 350°F (180°C) oven 15 to 18 minutes or until toothpick inserted in centre comes out clean.

Let cool on racks about 10 minutes; drizzle strips with melted white
chocolate and slice, on diagonal, into l-inch (2.5 cm) slices.
Makes 4 dozen.
