Wheat Fritters
Ingredients:
3 eggs
1½ cups
of milk
3 teaspoons baking powder
Pinch of salt
All purpose flour (enough to make
quite stiff batter)
Preparation:
- Make
quite stiff batter, much thicker than regular batter cakes.
- Drop
into hot lard and fry like
doughnuts.
A Good Sauce for Wheat
Fritters:
One
cup of sugar, two tablespoons of butter, one teaspoon of flour beaten
together; half a cup boiling water; flavor with lemon extract and boil
until clear.
TIP: Wheat Fritters taste also great when served with maple
syrup.
