BAKED
STUFFED APPLES

Ingredients:
6 apples
6 teaspoons golden raisins
6 tablespoons brown sugar
6 tablespoons water
Whipped cream for garnish (optional)
Preparation:
- Wash the apples. With an
apple corer or apple knife, remove the core and seeds from each. Place
the apples in a glass baking dish.
- Wash a golden raisins in
warm water and place 1 teaspoon of raisins and 1 tablespoon of sugar brown
sugar in the middle of each apple. Pour the 6 tablespoons of water around
the apples.
- Bake in a hot oven until
tender. Test the apples for sufficient baking with a fork or skewer. During
baking, occasionally "baste" the apples (take spoonfuls of the water from
around the apples and pour it on the top of them.
NOTE: Time for baking apples
varies with the kind of apple and the temperature of the oven. Usually
from 20 to 40 minutes at 400 degrees F.
TIP: If serving cold, before serving, garnish with
whipped cream.
Makes 6 servings.
