This tasty pudding recipe is great when served in individual glass dishes with Old Fashioned Custard Sauce. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
8 cups bread cubes (from day old egg or French bread)
5 large eggs
1 can sweetened condensed milk
3 cups milk
1/3 cup orange liqueur or juice concentrate
2 tablespoons grated orange rind
2 tablespoons butter, melted
Cream or custard sauce
1. Place bread cubes in greased 13x9-inch (33x23 cm) baking pan.
2. In large bowl, whisk together eggs, condensed milk, milk, orange liqueur and rind, and butter.
3. Pour egg mixture over bread cubes; make sure all cubes are moistened. Let stand 10 minutes.
4. Bake in 325° F (160° C) oven for 35 to 40 minutes or until pudding begins to puff up.
5. Serve warm with a drizzle of cream or Old Fashioned Custard Sauce.
NOTE: Reduce oven temperature by 25° F (10° C) for glass pan.
